Manipur,IMPHAL, March 2: Irom Chanu Sharmila will be taken to New Delhi tomorrow for her physical appearance before the court of the Metropolitan Magistrate No 6, Patiala House Court Complex on March 4.
Sharmila will be taken to New Delhi on an Air India flight from Imphal Tulihal Airport, which is scheduled at 12:30 pm.
The team which will escort Sharmila to New Delhi is led by an Assistant Jailor and consists of seven officials from three different departments. The team include three officials from Directorate of Health Services including a specialist, two officials from police department and two staffs of the jail including an Assistant Jailor.
A woman member of Manipur Home Guards (Valley Area) who has been deployed at the security ward of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) visited Sharmila`s family yesterday and informed them about Sharmila’s trip to New Delhi.
According to Sharmila’s family members, the jail authority has made all the arrangement and did not ask for any help to prepare Sharmila for her New Delhi visit.

Further, according to a source Rs 1.05 lakh has been sanctioned to cover the expenditure for Sharmila’s trip to New Delhi. The team will return to Imphal on March 5.
It may be mentioned here that Sharmila has been summoned to appear before the Patiala House Court in regard to a case registered against her by the Delhi police for holding a protest Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on October 5, 2006 demanding for repeal of the Arms Forces Special Powers’ Act, 1958.
