Manipur,IMPHAL, March 7: The ancient star shaped fort at Maklang which was highlighted in an IFP report earlier found mention in the Assembly session`s question hour when MLA Dr. I Ibohanbi raised the matter. He asked the Chief Minister who is charge of the Arts and Culture department whether the find was factual and if there are any plans to preserve the said discovery.
Ibobi stated that the discovery at Maklang paddy field is true and it will be considered for preservation after getting the detailed investigation report. The particular era and historical background is still being investigated, he said.
Another question from MLA L Ibomcha to the Social Welfare minister Ak Mirabai was about the number of MOAP beneficiaries sanctioned by the Planning Department for 2011-2012 as also the number of beneficiaries for each constituency.
The minister replied that 1500 beneficiaries were sanctioned for the scheme for the said year and it is still not clear how many were allocated to a particular constituency. The finance minister, Okram Ibobi said that 80 lacs was sanctioned for the work.
