IMPHAL, March 24: The Keirao Bitra Development Committee blocked the Keirao Bitra road today for neglecting the black topping on this road.
“If the said road is not repaired as soon as possible, the local people will start agitations and will block the Imphal -Yairipok road,” said Heikham Ibomcha, Vice President of the Keirao Block Development Committee.
A sit-in-protest was also held today against not repairing and neglecting the said road for more than 17-18 years.
Heikham Ibomcha speaking to media persons said that the damaged road creates problems because of the dust haze and accumulated mud to the people staying in the area for the past 17-18 years. For the past years, the demands and appeals of the locals to repair the road has been neglected, he said.
He further pointed out that the scarcity for water is also very high and none of the officials or authorities are concerned about the downtrodden in this area and that the water supply to the area has been a total failure.
