IMPHAL, March 5: A married woman was found hanging inside her room today morning at Irengbam Mairengbam under Kakcking Police station in Thoubal district. Family members have meanwhile alleged that they suspect foul play and the involvement of the her husband and other family members in the death.
The woman has been identified as Oinam (O) Devala (24) wife of Chinglemba of Irengban Mairengbam. Speaking to the media, the younger sister of Devala said that she received a phone call from one of her friends who is also a relative of the husband, Chinglemba and informed the news that her sister was found hanged inside her own room at around 10.30 and asked to come at the earliest. She maintained that her brother in law Chinglemba made a call later to say that something has happened to her sister (his wife) and asked family members to come at the earliest but he did not mention anything about her being found hanging inside the room.
Devala`s mother expressed her suspicions over the nature of her daughter`s death and maintained that the family of Chinglemba family might be involved. She said that her daughter was married to Chinglemba some two years back and the couple have a 9 month old baby boy. She further said that the relation of her daughter with her husband was not good and said that her daughter used to stay at her parental for around one month, 2 months back before she was sent back to her husband`s house.
Kakching police have taken up a case regarding the case and the body have been deposited at JNIMS morgue.
