Infant cut to death

Just a day after a Junior Research Fellow on pathology at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences was found brutally murdered yesterday, another gruesome incident involving a new born male infant has come to light.

The dead body of the infant who looked less than one month old was found abandoned in the paddy field . The dead body of the child looked like it had been sliced with a sharp big knife and bore deep cuts on the face and the lower portion. The body was found by locals  today at around 9.am under Patsoi police station, Imphal West and was deposited at the RIMS morgue for post mortem after being picked up by a team of Patsoi village.

The dead body of the infant  was found inside a cotton carry bag in a paddy field at Ngairangbam Khalong Loukon near Heibirok canal. Blood stains and the outline of a sharp big knife was found some 15 meters away from the dead body of the infant. The place of crime is a mere 7 kilometers away from the Patsoi police station.

According to the police, the infant baby might have been brought by someone in the area and killed the infant by using a sharp weapon and  abandoned the body in the paddy field. Patsoi police have also registered a case regarding the incident.

The infant baby boy had a severe seem case of a combined cleft lip and palate while both hands had six fingers each.
