Kidnapped non-local found stabbed

IMPHAL, April 18: A non-local was stabbed and abandoned after being kidnapped from Lalambung Makhong Khoirom Leikai near RIMS Road, Imphal West under Imphal Police Station at around 6:05 pm yesterday.

According to reports received by IFP from the victim’s family, Ram Khadka (36), son of Nar Bahadur from Saikul and presently staying at a rented house owned by Maishnam Madhumangol Singh, proprietor M/S MM Gas was kidnapped by three persons who reportedly came in a silver colour Maruti Van from a place near his rented house.

He was working as a salesman at Prakash Medicos, Nagamapal, family members said.

After the incident, his family members made a formal report at the Imphal Police Station around 9 pm yesterday.

Accordingly, police started the search operation but before police could find him, he was found abandoned at Thoubal Moijing at around 10 am today , the reports said adding that he was found with wounds incurred by a knife on his head, abdomen, thigh and leg.

He was found by locals and brought in a Magic Van to RIMS for treatment. However, he was finally admitted to Shija Hospitals and Research Institute at around 1.30 pm today as his condition worsened.

Before Ram Khadka lost his consciousness, he  informed that his kidnappers  asked him to sign on a paper and when he refused to sign, they demanded Rs 3 lakhs. The reasons for the kidnapping and subsequent stabbing are still unclear till the filing of this report.
