IMPHAL, April 7: Two young players have been provided a lifetime sponsorship in a program organized by the Sunrise Charitable Trust at Manipur Press Club today.
The two players selected by the Trust are boxer Leishangthem Rabon (11) S/o L Khogen of Khurai Kongpal Sajor Leirak and gymnast Master Md Irsad Ali (5) of Uchiwa Wangbal Mayang Imphal.
Delivering the keynote address at the occasion Samom Biju, General Secretary of Sunrise Charitable Trust said the objective of giving the lifetime sponsorship is to provide the talented players especially from underprivileged family with basic major training and education.
The Trust will also find out and help young and talented players especially from BPL families residing in far off places in the state. The spirit of sports will be developed, he added.
The occasion was presided over by Kh Chinglen Singh, Assistant Secretary All Manipur NGO Forum; and attended by Mujibur Rahman Shah, Principal National Sports Academy, Manipur; and S Jashobanta, General Secretary Handicap Development Foundation as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
