IMPHAL, Apr 1: The Board of secondary, Education has notified in an official statement that a new schemeof study will be implemented in the course of studies in the curriculum and syllabus in class IX from the academic session 2014 – 15 and in class X the next year. As per the new scheme of studies , subjects of studies for classes IX and X are First Language, 2nd language (English), Mathematics, science, social science, one additional subject, work experience. Health and physical education. However, students whose mother tongue is Manipuri are not allowed to offer Elementary Manipuri. The statement further said that each student will be assessed in six subjects and the total marks will be 600 marks and development of curriculum and syllabus for more subjects including dance, indigenous games and sports, fine Arts, Music etc will be taken as additional subjects.
In a separate statement, Board of Secondary Education, Manipur has informed the Principal and headmaster of schools to nominate one suitable participant for participation in an on-the-spot essay competitions (upto class X / classes IX and X) to be held on May 1 .
