IMPHAL, April 8: Sit in protests against the alleged brutal killing of N Satyabhama, Junior Research Fellow of BDT project of Pathology Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) were staged in various parts of Imphal by women and club members in their respective areas.
The sit in protests were staged at Uripok Canteen near RIMS traffic point organized by the Nganuleima Women Development Society, in Keishamthong near MDU hall by the local meira paibi of the area, in Tiddim road near Takhel Leikai Ground, at Khurai Salanthong, Singjamei Chingamathak , Singjamei Kshetri Leikai and in Nongmeibung Bazaar.
The protestors were seen holding placard with “We condemn the brutal killing of N Shatyabhama and left abandoned at Bashikhong Wangkei Loumanbi Loukon by unknown person”, “Arrest the person involved in the brutally killing of N Shatyabhama at the earliest”, “Give befitting punishment to all involved in the brutally killing”, “We condemn the crime against women”, “Make a policy to protect women and children in the state”, and “we support the JAC formed against the killing of N Satyabhama in any kind of Agitation Launch by the JAC,” written on them.
