IMPHAL, April 22: Prof S. Sekharjit, Director, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences today inaugurated an Internet Access Facility in the main library complex according to a release. 10 computer sets have been installed to ensure that faculties, students and other staff could make use of the computer access facilities to surf for articles, books and others very easily. With the facility being introduced today, library users will be able to locate their areas and chapters in record time, the release said.
The system will now ensure that a library card holder who will submit his/her mobile number will get an automated SMS alert if the books are not returned on time.
The release added that for the time being,the users will be accommodated on first come first served basis and that more computer sets will be installed if need be. The library will remain open from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm on working days and the timing will be longer on Sundays and holidays, the release added.
