IMPHAL, April 16: A press release issued jointly by Pangal Students’ Organisation, Manipur (PSO, Manipur); MSF, Thoubal branch; All Manipur Muslim Girls Students’ Union, has said that in continuation of its agitation against the alleged killing of Md Sana, the JAC formed has resolved to continue with its general strike from 6pm of April 17.

It has been suspended on April 17 regarding the Realisation Day observation of the AMSU.

The general strike will however allow movement relating to religious ceremonies, medical treatment, fire service and press.

The decision was taken during a joint public meeting held at PSO office, Hatta Golapati today.

JAC appealed to students’ organisations, civil organisations and other local bodies to extend support to JAC’s agitation in its bid to find out the truth of the killing of Md Sana while saying it cannot be taken for granted that the fate of Sana may not fall on all the communities of Manipur.

The release continued that there is a doubt whether top officials of the state government had a hand in the matter in view of the way the Officer in Charge, Yairipok PS, Investigation Officer of the killing of Md Sana and magistrate deal with threatening that the dead body will be disposed of instead of finding out the clues to the killing even four or five days after the incident.

The release appealed to the state government to solve such problem at the earliest and to punish the accused.
