URF salutes Khingjom war spirit

    IMPHAL, April 22: The United Revolutionary Front, Manipur has in a press release said that the outfit regards the Anglo-Manipuri War, 1981 and the sacrifices of the Manipuri forefather in high respect.

    It has also said that people need to discuss why there is an armed struggle in Manipur today. India respects only its Independence but disregards that of the others, it said. The release further said that India and Manipur could have been friendly neighbours but India respects only its independence.

    It has further said that the present armed struggle was not launched for the some petty benefits nor was it a result of dissatisfaction amongst the people.
