IMPHAL, May 8: A press release issued by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations has stated that as per an official statement from the Directorate of Employment Exchange; 6,89,555 persons were in search of jobs till March.
Out of the total number of 6, 89,555 persons being registered at the employment exchange; 1,17,509 are males in Imphal East District and females numbering 61,988 with a total of 1,79,897 persons whereas in Imphal East District, males are 78,458 and females 31,437, making a total of 1,09,895. In Thoubal District there are 92,032 males and 24,366 females while Bishnupur District has 50, 386 males and 17, 95 bringing the total number to 67,581 unemployed. Further 50, 841 males and 17, 544 females in Churachandpur District coming to 68, 385 persons in total are unemployed while Ukhrul District has 20, 827 males and 9, 081 females with the total standing at 29, 904 as unemployed figures. Senapati District has 41, 157 males and 15, 643 females with a total of 56, 800 unemployed persons. There are 18, 065 males and 5, 773 females in Tamenglong District with 23, 838 in total while Chandel District has 19, 639 males and 8, 821 females bringing the total number to 28, 460. Handicapped males are 1,721 and females 825.
