IMPHAL, May, 9: The committee against sheltering of valley based surrendered insurgents in Chandel District has announced to suspend its stir with effect from today.
This was announced by Wangshol Kanral Anal, Convener of the committee. He also said that the Committee has decided to suspend the agitation in the light of a letter No. DC (CDL)/1/MISC/2013 dated 8th Chandel 2013 received from the office of the Deputy Commissioner Chandel stating that the KYKL (MDF) Cadres will be relocated from Chandel on May 10.
According to Kanral Wangshol, The Deputy Commissioner Chandel has written the said letter to the Principal Secretary (Home) Govt. of Manipur enclosing a letter of the Assam Rifles Authority which mentions that a decision has been taken to relocate the surrendered KYKL (MDF) Cadres to another area by May 10.
It may be mentioned that Committee against sheltering of valley based insurgents involved in peace talks in Chandel District had earlier adopted indefinite sit-in protest with the sole demand for shifting of surrendered KYKL (MDF) Cadres from the campus of 20 Assam Rifles at Chandel Head Quarters from May 6.
