IMPHAL, May 14: The Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) today organized a blood donation camp at the blood bank of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) today.
Speaking at the occasion, Islam Makakcha, Secretary General of HERICOUN said it has been conducting blood donation camps every year at JNIMS with the camp being in its fifth edition. Fifty people (14 female and 36 male) volunteers donated blood today.
The camp was organized to drive home the message: if each one of us can donate a unit of blood once in every 3 months then there will be surplus blood available.
Islam Makakcha continued that such blood donation camps will help those who are have blood cancer and other diseases.
