High security number plates launched in Kangpokpi

KANGPOKPI, May 23: Following the implementation of High Security Registration Number Plates in the states and union territories of the country as per a directive of the Supreme Court considering security, law and order and after launching the same recently in various districts of the state, the HSRP project has also been launched today in Senapati and Kangpokpi respectively.

The HSRP Project has been launched for Kangpokpi in Sadar Hills by A Kumar Singh, District Transport Officer, Kangpokpi during a simple function held at his office chamber today evening in the presence of Shimnit Utsch India Pvt Ltd members and technicians besides staffs of DTO, Kangpokpi.

Speaking at the sideline of the launching programme, A.Kumar Singh said that, implementation of HSRP project here will help and benefit the general public.

“But since the public at present is totally in the dark regarding the project, it is highly needed to make them aware of the various unique features of the project and at the same time educate them well about the project,” he added.

He also maintained that, after launching the project in the remaining two districts of Ukhrul and Bishnupur, it will be very much helpful if the Director of State transport issues an order to all the concerned district law enforcement authorities to carry out necessary actions for maximum success in the implementation of the project.

The DTO,Kangpokpi has also provided a room for the HSRP project.

High Security Registration Number Plates project has been implemented by Shimnit Utsch India Pvt.Ltd, which is a joint venture company formed by Shimnit India and Erich Utsch AG of Germany to implement and introduce the same in India.

Under the Ministry of Roads Transport and Highways, Govt.of India had amended Rule 50 of Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989 to standardize the pattern of displaying registration mark throughout India under which all vehicles should be affixed with High Security Registration Plates because unlike ordinary plate which is fix by screws, the registration plate will be fix by embossing and black foiling.

There is also a standing order from the Supreme Court that Pan India, for uniformity in all Indian state, that once the implementation of HSRP Project in the state, then within two years all vehicles whether old or new will compulsory have to use the said security plate, added a member of Shimnit Utsch India Pvt.Ltd.

Mentioned may be made that, at present more than 100 countries in the world are either directly under German technology of affixing HSRP or joint venture.
