ICHAM welcomes titular king`s meeting with Th Muivah

IMPHAL, May 26: The Information Centre for Hill Areas, Manipur (ICHAM) has in a release said that it considers the meeting between Th Muivah, general secretary of NSCN (IM) and a team led by the titular king of Manipur, Leisemba Sanajaoba at NSCN (IM) camp Hebron recently as a milestone and welcome gesture.

“The meeting of such two prominent personalities of the area will not only promote brotherly neighbourhood, sense of belongingness, solidarity and closer understanding not only between the Meitei and the Naga brothers but across the whole north eastern states of India and beyond,” the release said. 

“ICHAM is hopeful that such people to people dialogue cutting across political and communal line will go a long way in bringing about lasting solution to the myriad problems besetting the north eastern states of India including the Indo-Naga peace talk,” the release further said. 

“We firmly believe that the recent meeting between the titular king of Manipur and the ato kilonser of GPRN/NSCN (IM) had already set the trend for future posterity to reckon with to embark on the journey of mutual trust and co-operation in order to let peace, liberty, justice, development and solidarity to prevail over misunderstanding, hatred, exploitation, injustice and jingoism,” it added.
