Pukhramba Kajao remembered

IMPHAL, May 25: The 123rd Pukhramba Kajao Ningsing Thouram was observed  today at the Pukhramba Kajao Khubam, Kangmong Masinam Leikai by the Pukhramba Kajao Memorial Trust.

Dr Arambam Lokendrajit addressing the function said the observation will refresh the minds of the people to the vast Manipuri history. He said that Pukhramba Kajao was hanged for killing a British Political agent during the Anglo-Manipur war.

He said the spear used by Pukhramba Kajao to kill the British political agent is being preserved by the memorial trust which is set to open a museum to showcase all such items.

The function was also attended by MP Lok Sabha, Dr Th Meinya Singh; Konthoujam MLA K Sarat Singh, former Minister Dr M Nara Singh and PKMY president S Heramani Khuman as the chief guest, president and guests of honour, respectively.

During the function, floral tributes were also paid to the monument of Pukhramba Kajao.

A team of MEEHUL Thang Ta also showcased a Thang-ta presentation.
