Luzinho Faleiro all praise for state Congress Committee

IMPHAL, June 4: Following the block level political conferences held earlier at Lamlai, Keishamthong, Sekmai, Yaishkul, Sagolband and Lamsang; the Phungyar Block Congress Committee has also organised a one day block level political conference at the Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Chingmeirong here today.

Speaking at the conference, Rishang Keishing, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) urged the state government to take up development programs which the people will desire.

The government is for the people and so it should work for them from the grassroots level, he said.

Luzinho Faleiro, General secretary north east in-charge of the All India Congress Committee, AICC said, for the last seven years he has seen Manipur and its people growing stronger and stronger.

Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, president and vice president respectively of AICC are happy that Manipur is showing a strong and vibrant Congress committee, he asserted and urged to take all the development programs to the grassroots level i.e. to the poor people.

Faleiro continued the biggest challenge of the Congress government is to reach out the benefits of development to every nook and corner of Manipur.

During the occasion, Gaikhangam, president Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) and Deputy Chief Minister, Manipur stressed that it is necessary to regularly discuss the work and principle of the Congress party.

He also said there are lots to be emphasized for the hill areas and it is in the process.

Steps are on to make a self-content administrative office each in every block by constructing inclusive infrastructure capacity buildings, and the same in all SDO and BDO offices in  hill areas, he said.

18,000 candidates out of the total 37,000 have passed in the physical test for the recruitment of 2000 police constables, he continued adding that process is in full swing for the sound functioning of police stations and civil administrations in hill districts, he continued.

He continued that the government of India has opened up a wide door to north east India with the Look East Policy, and so Manipur will become the gateway for South East Asian countries. There will be an international airport, a railway head and other developments here in the very near future and so the people have to build up capacity to absorb this changing development era, he said.

The moderator of the occasion was MC Shimreiphang, Vice President BCC Phungyar; and Victor Keishing, Parliamentary Secretary TA and Hills, and General Secretary MPCC gave the vote of thanks of the occasion.
