IMPHAL, June 1: The Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur has said in a press release that it is natural for leaders of `mainland` India to put the blame on the dead.

The student body was referring to the recent recovery of the dead body of a 21 year old state native girl from her rented room in Delhi.

The students’ body alerted the NE students staying outside the side to remain ever vigilant saying that the people of the region should not take the incident lightly.

Meanwhile, the All Manipur Students’ Union in a separate press release has also condoled the incident, while charging both the state and central political leaderships for not taking befitting action against the perpetrators.

Governments should act responsibly, the students’ body urged.

In a seperate press release, the Women Committee of United NGO Mission Manipur (WC-UNMM) has expressed strong condemnation on the suspected murder of Reingamphy Awungshi (21) of Chuithui, Ukhrul district, in her rented room in Delhi. The press release further urged both the State and Central Govt to book the culprits as per the law of the country.
