IMPHAL, July 31: The All Manipur Intellectual Forum (AMIF) has today said in a press release that the local people of the border area of the ongoing fencing work at the Indo-Myanmar border expressed their displeasure over the transfer of Manipur’s land to Myanmar in secret by the central govt.
The press release further strongly lamented the incident saying that such border fencing without consent of the people is nothing but an act of undermining the deeds of the forefathers and at the same time, it is an act to giving Manipur’s territory piece by piece, it said.
It is further said to immediately discontinue the fencing work and also demanding to regain the recently lost villages due to the ongoing fencing works, it said.
