Lions Club plants tree saplings at children home

    IMPHAL, July 28: Continuing its yeomen service, the Lions Club of Imphal Greater today planted tree saplings inside the campus of Yaibilen Children Home in Keibi Sanapat in Imphal East district around 8 am.

    The different tree saplings planted by the volunteers of the club are tree bean, amla, jackfruit, lemon, orange, mango, Pomegranate etc.

    The volunteers also donated sport materials which consist of 12 dress suits, two badminton racket, one shuttle set, two football, two cricket bats, three stumbs and five cricket balls to the children of the home center.

    A health camp was also organised where medicines was provided to ailing children at free of cost which was followed by a feast attended by the members, leaders of the club along with the children.

    The volunteers of the club headed by its president Y. Shantikumar Singh also handed over eatable items along with other several materials to the children informing that the step was part of the club’s Permanent Adoption Programme.

    The various items handed over to the center are three rice bags, 20 kgs of pulse, mustard oil, sugar, tea, spices, four dozen of exercise books, 25 ball pens, one torchlight, one looking glass, one comb and two nail cutters.
