IMPHAL, Aug 3: The Citizen Welfare Forum, Thangmeiband has today requested in a press note to release safely the Superintending Engineer of IFCD, N Karunachrya of Thangmeiband Lilasing Khongnangkhong, the Executive Engineer of the same department, Naorem Surchandra of Uripok Polem Leikai, Contractor Sanayaima Sharma of Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak, two drivers and two officials of a Kolkatta based construction company who were kidnapped from along the Pukhao Terapur Road, PS Sagolmang of Imphal East District on Aug 1, 2013.
The press note further continued to urge the Govt of Manipur to find ways and means for their safe release, it said.
Meanwhile, the Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Govt Employees Organisation (AMGEO) has today requested in a press note to kindly release the kidnapped officials of IFCD, the contractor and the Kolkata based company representatives.
It will be a great lose for the people of Manipur in keeping the officials under threat and captive adding that the officials are duty bound for the development works in the interest of people.
