IMPHAL, August 31: Various local clubs and womenfolk of various locality today staged separate sit in protests by blocking a side of the National Highway 37 against the alleged killing of auto driver A Naveen of Tera Loukrakpam Leikai today along the Wahengbam Leikai to Langjing stretch of the Highway.
The sit in protest were held in front of the local clubs and meira sangs organised by the Joint Action Committee formed in connection with the alleged killing.
All shops and business establishments along the Highway remained closed during the protest.
The protestors demanded arrest of the culprit(s) involved in the alleged killing at the earliest and condemned the alleged crime further.
It may be mentioned that the Auto Driver A Naveen was found death with his throat slit at Tangjeng Near the under construction Food Corporation of India under Thoubal district in the early morning of August 26 last.
The dead body continues to lie in the JNIMS morgue as family members and the JAC refuses to claim it.
The post mortem of the deceased A Naveen was conducted on August 27 at JNIMS morgue in the presence of a duty magistrate will full video coverage.
