School felicitation function held

IMPHAL, August 31: The 28th felicitation function of Evergreen Flowers School, Ningombam in Thoubal district was held today at the school’s campus with Social Welfare and Co-operation minister AK Mirabai attending as the Chief guest.

It was also attended by Khangabok MLA, O Landhoni as present and Parliamentary Secretary MOBC & Science & Technology Md Amin Shah; DC Thoubal T Ranjit Singh and Zone III Thoubal ZEO Kh Amuba as guests of honour.

The function which started with offering of floral tributes to the photos of founders of the school also saw the release of the yearly magazine of the school by the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, AK Mirabai stated that there is a huge responsibility on the parents and teachers in moulding a child from their tender age to becoming a successful one and added that giving rewards and recognition to good students will encourage many other bright students to come up in the future.

Saying that many among the students community have indulged in drug addiction which needs immediate attention, the minister said certain unknown diseases that have broken out today might be related with drugs and so, students should stay away from drugs.

During the felicitation function, rewards were given to altogether 135 students of the school including two students namely Kshetrimayum Thoithoinganba and Akoijam Sunandash who bagged 8th and 25th position in the recent HSLC examination.

Above this, 11 awards were also presented including to those subject teachers where students scored letter marks.
