IMPHAL, September 4: The Democratic Student Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has found two teachers of keeping their substitute (s) who had signed their attendance register despite being absent at the school. This was disclosed by Arambam Thoithoi, general secretary DESAM during a press conference at its office today.
The two teachers identified are: Moirangthem (o) Sujenti (SSA teacher), who was being substituted by her brother in law, Moirangthem Binan of Khangabok and Thongam Dhaneshwar, substituted by Moirangthem Kumarjjit (SMDC secretary) of Thoubal Athokpam.
General Secretary of DESAM Arambam Thoithoi said that the malpractice of the two teachers was found during the inspection at the school today in the continuation of inspection to the government school in the state to find out the inadequate facilities in the government institutions.
He continued that the inspection was started on August 30th following complaints from various locals.
He appealed the teachers to do their duty well for a better society and also urged the concerned officials to look into the matter seriously.
