IMPHAL, Sept 15: The Manipur Police bomb expert today disposed an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing about one and a half kilogram this morning at Yourbung Cheirao Chingkhong.
According to official sources, the IED was detected by an ROP team of 13 BSF G-company around 8 am, planted near a waiting shed of Yourbung Khunou, under Lamlai Police station, Imphal East district.
The sources further disclosed that the waiting shed was situated along the Imphal-Ukhrul road, a routine ROP route of the 13 BSF G-Company, attached at Lamlai Police station.
Police bomb experts defused the bomb and disposed it off at Yourbung Cheirao Chingkhong 11:37 pm.
