JIRIBAM, Sept 1: A students’ union for Bengali students has today emerged in the Bengali dominated area of Jiribam sub division.
The Bengali students’ union is named as All Jiribam Bengali Students’ Union (AJBSU). It is said that the students’ union has emerged for the welfare of the students of the Bengali community.
For that purpose, a public meeting was organised at 2:30 pm at Lalpani Govt High School. Students and public leaders participated in the public meeting in which the executive body of central committee was constituted consisting of 11 members.
Santanu Das, MM Hasan and Rashid Ahmed were elected as president, general secretary and treasurer respectively.
