IMPHAL, September 1: Local club members and womenfolk of Khongman Part 4 and 5 staged a sit in protest against the gun treat to the wife of contractor Thingujam Munindro (52), son of Tomba of Khongman Zone 5 at the CWC community Hall today
Speaking to media persons on the side line of the protest, the contractor’s wife Ibemhal said that the incident occurred yesterday night at around 7.30pm when an unidentified youth came to her residence and inquired about the presence of her husband contractor Munindro.
When Ibemhal replied that her husband was not at home and asked to come back the next morning if he wanted to meet Munindro, the unknown youth puledl out a gun and threatened her, she said.
Following the commotion, other family members and locals gathered around and during the course of time, a CDO gypsy arrived at the spot and picked up the unknown person, she said.
She further said that they condemn the act of armed persons threatening her and also appealed not to carry out such threats in the future.
