IMPHAL, September 27: Solar Mini Home Lights were today launched at the Lamyanba Shanglen, Place Compound Imphal under the funding of the Friends of Women’s World Banking, India under the programme “From Darkness to Light”. General manager and officer in-charge, NABARD, Manipur regional office M Soren attended the function as chief guest, chief executive officer, Chanura Microfin Manipur (CMM) PK Khuman as president, chairman Chanura Microfin Manipur, Kh Yaiskul Singh ; Branch Manager SIDBI Imphal SP Gangte and Branch Manager, NEDFi Imphal Rajiv Khaidem as the guests of honour.
PKKhuman mentioned that the CMM has taken up the program with the aim of increasing income and minimizing expenditure in the poor families.
The mini home light can be used in upto three rooms, he said while adding that in the 1st phase, the solar light will be distributed to 2300 houses.
