IMPHAL, October 11: The 11th Th Radhamani memorial 1st Division Football League Tournament was today inaugurated at 3:00 pm by the president of the All Jiribam Sports Association (AJSA), M Brajakanta Singh at the playground of Jiribam higher secondary school, Jiribam.
The opening match was played between Kalinagar Youth Club (KYC) and Lungreijang Youth Club (LYC) which ended in a 1-1 draw.
The first goal of the opening match was scored by Aguwang (Jersey No. 4) of LYC in the 37th minute while Lelen (Jersey No. 10) scored the equalizer for KYC in the 75th minute.
Altogether seven teams are participating in the tournament namely Echel Club Dibong, Young Sinlung Club Kalinagar, Lungreijang Youth Club of Langreijang, PYC Phaituaol, Kalinagar Youth Club of Kalinagar, Yaipha Lamjing Club of Dibong Khunou and JYC of Jairolpokpi.
The inaugural function was presided by M Gopal Singh, vice president of AJSA while M Brajakanta Singh, president of AJSA participated as chief guest.
The donor of the tournament Th Joykumar Singh was also present during the inaugural function.
Th Joykumar Singh donated the tournament in memory of his late mother.
