IMPHAL, October 31: The Trinamool Congress, Manipur Unit (TMC) has demanded President Rule in Manipur after the most recent bomb blast at Moirangkhom bus stand which killed three persons and injured four. The TMC has further condemned the bomb blasts in the heart of Imphal City on Thursday.
Speaking to media persons in a press meet at Trinamool Congress Manipur Unit office at Hotel Excellency, ex-MP and president of TMC, Kim Gangte said the present Congress government has totally failed in protecting the civilians and if we need to save our Manipur, imposition of PR is required.
During two weeks, there were four powerful bomb blasts taking place in the heart of Imphal city leaving human casualties. It has been clearly proven that the state is under no governance under Congress Party and the law and order situation is at its nadir. Though the state government is recruiting many police officers and constables, it appeared that the strong police force is meant only for VVIPs and VIPs. Security forces in the state no longer act as a protector of common citizens, she added.
She asked “Is there anybody for innocent civilians”, “who is there for us” “is there any government for the public who can protect civilian, the civilian are killed in a daily basis, what is the point of having such government.”
