JPF to organise nationwide campaign against AFSPA

IMPHAL, November 4: As part of its ongoing campaign against the Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA), 1958, Just Peace Foundation in collaboration with various organizations and concerned individuals will stage various demonstrations in different parts of the country from November 4-6, said a press statement from Just Peace Foundation.

On the first day of the campaign, candle light vigil programme will be held at Samta Sthal in front of Rajghat, New Delhi from 5 am to 6 pm; Talk Show and Play 4th November at Mahatma Gandhi Antarashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya in Maharashtra from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm and memorandum submission programme at Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

Following the next day (Nov 5), one day solidarity fast and candle light vigil will be held at SAKAL Shanglen, Porompat, Manipur at 10 am and 5 pm respectively; public meeting of SSSC at Gandhi Park, Tiruvanantpuram in Kerala at 5 pm; candle vigil at Asha Centre, Varanasi in UP at 5 pm and protest and memorandum handover at DM Office, Basti, UP.

On the last day (Nov 6), one day sit-in-protest will be held at Arts Faculty, University of Delhi at 5 pm; memorandum handover to PM through District Magistrate at Vidisha in MP at 5 pm; memorandum handover to PM through District Magistrate at Betul, MP at 5 pm; memorandum handover to PM through District Magistrate at Jhansi, MP at 5 pm; memorandum handover, District Magistrate Office at Shahjahanpur, UP at 5 pm and DC Office memorandum submission at Panipat, Haryana at 11 am, the statement informed.
