Satyabhama murder case: Prosecution witness hearing from Dec 5

IMPHAL, November 20: The three accused in the Satyabhama murder case Toijam Thesus, Thoudam Jibon and Kshetrimayum Biju was today produced before the District and Session Court, Manipur east. The court has framed charges against all the three accused and fixed December 5 for the prosecution witness hearing of the case.

The accused Toijam Thesus alias Boy alias James, 27, son of T Jugindro of Thambalkhong Sabal Leikai; Thoudam Jibon, 27, son of late Th Thoiba of Irilbung Machahal Mayai Leikai and Kshetrimayum Biju alias Holendro, 28, son of Ibungo of Irilbung Bazar were produced before the court. After the day hearing on the murder case, the judge framed charges against all three accused in the murder case today and fixed November 5 for the hearing of the prosecution witness from the victim side.

The hearing of the murder case began at the District and Session Court from one month back after the police submitted charge sheet regarding the murder case of the Junior Research Fellow under a DBT project on Pathology at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences to the Chief Judicial magistrate some month back and after that the case was transferred to the District and Session Court, Manipur east.   It may be mentioned that the dead body of Ningombam Seityabhama alias Penao, 31, daughter of N Tomba of Kakwa Laishram Leikai Selungbam Leirak, was recovered in a partly decomposed state from a canal at Bashikhong Wangkhei Lowmanbi Loukon Khong under Irilbung Police Station, Imphal East district on April 5 afternoon.
