Consider inaugurated dispensary as own: SHADC chairman

KANGPOKPI, December 28: A medical dispensary under Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council has been inaugurated today at Kangchup Chingkhong, Sadar Hills.

Haokholal Hangshing, chairman Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council inaugurated the Medical Dispensary in the presence of Lunthang Haokip, EM, i/c Veterinary and Dispensary, SHADC, Kpi and Zilthang Touthang, chairman, Finance Committee, SHADC, Kpi who attended the function as guest of honour and functional president, respectively.

The Medical Dispensary has been dedicated by Satlam Hangshing, chairman,  K Chingkhong Christian Revival Church after it was inaugurated.

While speaking at the function Haokholal Hangshing pointed out that Kangchup Chingkhong Medical Dispensary is one of the oldest dispensaries in the state; and further added that the newly inaugurated dispensary will be a relief for the people of the area in many ways particularly in medical field.

While lauding the efforts of K Chongkhong Village chief, Henkhongam Hangshing and the people of Kangchup area for the construction of the medical dispensary, Haokholal Hangshing observed that the dispensary is now a permanent property of the people; and urged everyone for the safety and smooth functioning of the dispensary.

The chairman SHADC also distributes a Red Shawl to village chiefs of Kangchup area on the sideline of the inauguration programme while assuring to provide the materials needed in the dispensary as well as for its upgradation at the earliest.

Lunthang Haokip, EM, i/c Veterinary and Dispensary, SHADC, Kpi and Zilthang Touthang, Chairman, Finance Committee, SHADC,Kpi urges the people of the area for the safety and well-functioning of the dispensary as well as its staffs.

Tracing back the history of the newly inaugurated dispensary L.Hemsat, retd ARCS narrated that Kangchup Chingkhong Medical Dispensary was established in the year 1955 and it was known as Kangchup Chingkhong Civil Dispensary.

He added that Dr Govodhon, the first doctor of the state looked after the dispensary during 1957 to 1959.

He continued that during that period the dispensary was under Medical Directorate but when District Council came into existence it was transfer under District Council as per the Act.
