IMPHAL, December 31: Former Union home secretary Vinod Kumar Duggal was today sworn in as the new Governor of Manipur by the Manipur High Court chief justice Lakshmikant Mahapatra at Raj Bhavan.
The state Governor’s post had been looked after by the Nagaland Governor Ashwani Kumar as the in-charge.
Today’s function was attended by the state chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh, dy CM Gaikhangam, ministers’, MLAs and other officials.
The new Governor, Vinod Kumar Duggal said he will provide all possible help from his end for bringing peace, harmony and prosperity in the state.
Stating that he had heard that the state is full of natural splendor, he said that he will act out his duty to his full abilities.
