KANGPOKPI, December 22: “If the people of my Kendra do not vote and elected me as an MLA, it is impossible for me to become a minister and be a part of the state government”, asserted Ngamthang Haokip, minister IFC, before adding, “I fear and give much more importance to the people of my kendra than anything and anyone else including the Chief Minister.”
The Minister was speaking at the inaugural function of Haokholam Memorial Hall, a community hall at Sadar Hills S Buning situated at Gamnom Sapormeina Sub-Division today.
He continued that the inauguration of this community hall transparently signify that `I am a man of Action` adding that last year the people of S Buning celebrated Christmas under a thatched roof and I assured them this year you will celebrate under a pucca building attached with GIC Sheet so “I did it”.
“When a responsible person in the village particularly the village chief is a truthful and trustworthy person, development comes along the right track and grows speedily”, added the minister before lauding the Lamkholen Kipgen, chief of S Buning, who is also a prominent footballer among the Kukis, for his truthfulness and simple living attitude.
The inaugural function was attended by the minister; Nemcha Kipgen, MLA, Kangpokpi AC and Haotinlen Vaiphei, special contractor as chief guest, guest of honour and functional president respectively.
Rev.V.Sitlhou, Exe.Secy.TBA(I), who is the inaugural minister dedicated the Hall after the IFC Minister declared inaugurated.
A part from the guests, EMs, MDCs of ADC Sadar Hills, Village Chiefs, Churches leaders, civil bodies also attended the function.
In the meantime, a felicitation program has been organized in the evening by the S.Buning Village Authority to felicitate the village Youth in achieving the Champion Trophy of Saitu Gamphajol Area Youth Organization Annual Sports Meet, 2012-13 Champion Trophy recently.
