IMPHAL, December 20: Capping, lamp lighting and oath taking ceremonies for the first batch of GNM students of L Chaobi Nursing Institute was held at the multipurpose hall of the institute at Porompat Pong Lambi today.
The programme was attended by MLA Thangmeiband AC Kh Joykishan as the chief guest, nursing superintendent of JNIMS P Landhoni Devi as the guest of honour and secretary of the institute L Rajanibala Devi as the president.
The oath was administered by its principal Ak Bijayanti Devi.
Joykishan said that the role of nurse in the health sector in every part of the world is very important as they serve mankind and God, he said. He further said that each and every person needs someone to take care when they are admitted to the hospital. The nurses take care of them as patient in every possible ways day and night, he said
He also appealed to the students of the institute who had taken oath today to work hard with full dedication for the welfare of the society and let the patient feel their presence through their caring during their period of treatment, he said.
Colourful programme by the students of the institute was showcased in the evening.
