Opposition MLAs to raise calling attention motions

IMPHAL, December 18: State Assembly Opposition MLAs such as Th Shyamkumar Singh of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) and Laishom Ibomcha Singh of National Congress Party (NCP) will raise calling attention motions so as attract the attention of the House during the last day of the two-day 6th session of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly.

Sources available to IFP, said that AITC MLA will table a calling attention motion on “Appointment of Nominee of Manipur State in the Dental Council of India” while the other NCP MLA, L Ibomcha Singh will put a motion on “Failure to properly implement centrally sponsored schemes in Social Welfare Department”.

Despite this two motions, sources further said that the leader of the Opposition I Ibohalbi Singh will also raise a motion on “Discussion on the need to persuade the government of India for inclusion of Manipur in the category of Least Developed Status” in the business discussion on the matter of public interest.

In the same business discussion, MSCP MLA RK Imo Singh will also raise a calling attention motion on “Discussion on the Need of the Establishment of a Permanent Infra structure for Sangai Festival.”

Dy CM Gaikhangam will also table seven reports of the five autonomous district councils of the state while the Law and Legislative Affairs minister Th Devendra Singh will also table the AG reports of the Manipur Legal Services Authority of the year 2004-05.
