Security arrangements for Assembly sittings

IMPHAL, December 10:  Arrangements inclusive of safety measures have been made for the upcoming Assembly session slated to commence from December 18.

A notification by the chief security officer Th Nimai Singh, “The vehicles of the Chief Minister, Deputy CM, Speaker, and other members shall enter from gate number 1, while the vehicles of the chief secretary, DGP and other officials shall enter through gate number 2.”

The PSOs of the members will also be allowed to enter the Assembly complex without arms, it said.

Vehicles of government Secretariat and departments shall not enter the Assembly campus and park at the designated spot outside. All officers are also to deposit their mobile phones to the CID security personnel at the main Assembly hall entrance, continued the notification.

Further according the notification, private vehicles of the employees of Assembly secretariat, press and employees of the PWD and Simplex Company shall enter through gate number 3 on the Western side.

It is also said that official vehicles holding white car pass, medical team and fire tenders shall enter through gate number 2 and park at the western side.

All visitors intending to witness the procedure of the House should invariably bring proof of identity e.g. photo identity card, pan card, adhar card etc. The vehicles of visitors shall not be allowed to enter the Assembly campus.

Firearms, materials not related with the Business of the House, if any in possession of the members shall be deposited with the security personnel on duty. Construction work is still to be continued during Assembly Session.
