Settle ILP issue at winter session

IMPHAL, December 6: It was the united political will of the All Political Party delegation led by Chief Minister O. Ibobi that made possible the precise and detailed presentation of the aspirations of the people of Manipur regarding the Border Fencing issue, including the loss of Kiyam Lamjao (Kabaw Valley) and the circumstances leading to the merging of Manipur into India in the Memorandum submitted to the leaders at the centre, stated a press release signed by W. Santa Meetei, Secretary Publicity, Federation of Regional Indigenous Societies (FRIENDS) today, while lauding the efforts made by the delegation of All Political Party in successfully convincing the centre to stop all border fencing activities with immediate effect.

Further, the release declared that the dreams of the people can be achieved under the leadership of Chief Minister O. Ibobi if the same rigid political will can be displayed in every development activities while reminding that the show of strength of character should be maintained in the future to continue the good work and for the people to repose their faith in the Government.

FRIENDS also expressed hope that the decision which was repeatedly taken in the state assembly (July13,2012 and June 13, 2013) to implement Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the State, subject to approval by the centre, would be pursued further which would assure a place for the CM and his party in the annals of contemporary history of Manipur and also urged all political parties in the state to unite for the protection and preservation of the state and its rich culture, tradition and heritage before it becomes too late.
