IMPHAL, Dec 12: A day after three alleged cadres of the KNF (N) were killed in a reported shoot-out between a group of the outfit’s cadres and a combined team of security forces, family members have today claimed that one of the dead is a student of the Churachand Higher Secondary School.
A PRO IGAR (S) statement had claimed that in a major operational success, a joint operation of 15 AR of HQ 9 Sector AR under HQ IGAR (S), 21 PARA (SF) and the Thoubal police commandos had killed three armed KNF (Nehlun) cadres.
The three who were killed during yesterday’s encounter have been identified as Yangminlal Haokip, 25, son of Thakhi Haokip of Bongbal Khullen, Saikholet Kipgen, 25, son of Saikothinthang of B Boljang and Khaimingthang Kipgen 16 son of Thangkotintek of Bongbal Khullen.
Family members of Khaimingthang Kipgen today after identifying his body at the JNIMS morgue claimed that he is an innocent class XI student of Churachand Higher Secondary School.
All three bodies were today received by family members after post mortem at the hospital.
Khaimingthang Kipgen had come home after the Kut festival and had been staying at his residence till yesterday, claimed the mother.
She also alleged that after her son was killed during the gun-fight with the militants at NP Khullen Village some 2 kms away from Bongbal khullen, the security forces dressed up her son in combat dresses to cover up their action.
