IMPHAL, December 21: The newly constructed Village court building of Mumlo Ringpam Village under Machi Block in Chandel district was inaugurated today by D Korungthang, MLA 42 Tengnoupal A/C.
While speaking as the chief guest of the inaugural function, Korungthang said that the Village Court settled dispute and petty cases in the village according to the customs and tradition.
Sometime, even criminal cases are also heard and justice delivered, according to the custom and traditions, the MLA said before adding that as such, the village court will help the government in settling cases of petty crime in the state and lessen the burden of the judiciary system.
“So, we should strengthened the judiciary system of the village so that it can deliver justice impartially”, Korungthang said.
“Encourage and preserve the good side of our customs and tradition and abandon the bad side”, he told the people.
The inaugural function was also attended by T Hopson, executive member ADC Chandel; S Robin, member ADC Chandel; Dm Korungthang, member ADC Chandel and AS Elias SDO/BDO Machi as the guests of honour.
