Anal Phetha Ni Alum held in Chandel

CHANDEL, Jan 12: The Anal Phetha Ni Alum 2014, a festival honouring the legendary heroes of the Anal Tribe, at Anal on Christian Institute Lambung, Chandel began with an anthem, ‘Napam Nadu Kankhupam” presented by Panchai Women Fellowship which was followed by unfurling of the ANTA National Flag and unveiling of the monument erected to mark the event of celebration by the chief guest.

The festival was organized by Anal Naga Tangpi (ANTA) on the theme, ‘ Commitment and Responsibilities with the MLA of 41 A/C Chandel St Nunghlung Victor and CO of 8th MR Leikun TK Anal IPS as the chief guest and guest of honour.

President of ANTA Kohring Victor while addressing the gathering honored the dignitaries of the function with a souvenir each.

Dissatisfied with the number of participants,  St Nunghlung Victor while speaking on the occasion as the Chief Guest stated that the festival be well organized with himself in the committee for hosting such festival in the years to come and ensured maximum participation of all villages including the chiefs, pastors and deacons of all churches.

He suggested that necessary arrangements including food be arranged for participants coming from far off places. The festival should provide a platform for conducting events that are riched in the traditions and customs of the Anal people and patriotic song competition.

CO of 8th MR TK Anal IPS while speaking as the Guest of Honour appeal to the Youths to fear God. He said that the youths should bring honour and fame to the society they belong by their hard work and determination.

Important speakers of the day included Ps Bemung who spoke on the significance of the festival. KL Hringkham MCS and Anal Sinnu Ruwl St Ruth also spoke on the occasion.

The function was attended by Chairman of  Area Chief Association, Pastors, distinguished guest and invitees.
