IMPHAL, January 2: The 12-hour Manipur Bandh called by the JAC formed in connection with the alleged killing of Oinam Muba alias Sarif alias Kondum crippled disturbed normal life in Imphal-Mayang Imphal route (Mayai Lambi) today.

The bandh was imposed demanding justice and over the failure of the government to arrest the culprits within the set deadline of December 31, 2013.

Both passenger and private vehicles remained off the said route.

Source also informed that the Oinam Sawombung Awang Leikai area remained highly tense, with bandh supporters seen moving around.

However, the bandh failed to impact other areas of the state.

It may be mention that Oinam Muba’s lifeless body was recovered from a bush on the banks of Imphal River some 100 metre from his residence under Wangoi Police Station at around 1 pm on December 28, in a suspicious manner.
