CM opens milk processing plant, encourages entrepreneurship

THOUBAL, January 13: State Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today inaugurated the second YVU Diary Milk processing plant of the YVU Milk Producers Company Limited at Thoubal Wangmataba.

Highlighting the need of private companies in solving the unemployment issue in the state, the CM said that it is impossible for the government to provide jobs to every individual and a government job is not the only form of employment.

He further said that the people should try to strengthen the wave of entrepreneurship in the state and increase self-employment.

The CM further continued that the Young Volunteers Union, YVU’s motto, “Let us live, we will let you live, let’s live together” is a life-saver. If the people are able to incorporate this thinking in their actual lives then it will help encourage unity, peace and love amongst one another, he observed.

He continued that while developmental works like construction of roads, bridge will never end, what is important for the government is the unemployment of educated youths.

He further lauded the private firms for employing people.

He continued that in the developed countries, the government doesn’t give employment to everyone, but the private firms and companies provide employment.

Elaborating further on the developmental works undertaken in the district, he said that the Waithou Water Supply Scheme which was constructed with the aim to provide water to five constituencies of Thoubal sub-division will be made functional soon.

As for power supply, above the 133 KV Power Station at Karaopokpi, a similar power station will be constructed at Chakpikarong and the sub-station at Tomching will also be upgraded, he assured.

The function was also attended by parliamentary secretary K Meghachandra, YVU president N Satyabati and chartered accountant, Ksh Kunjabi and YVU chairman Dr M Rajendra.
