IMPHAL, January 5: Councillor, ward no 3 of Samurou Awang Leikai, Mairangmayum (o) Sakhenbi today said that the claims of Asem (o) Shanti wife of (L) Babu of Samurou Awang Leikai that she is being tortured by her in laws after the dead of her husband as untrue.
She said, Shanti had made the claim during a discussion on rights of woman at Moreh recently.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Manipur Press Club said that Shanti had made several allegations against her in laws which are all baseless and unfortunate.
She continued that it is Shanti who has been maltreating her in laws.
She also declared that locals of the area have resolved against allowing Shanti from entering the area.
