IMPHAL, January 20: A man from Manipur was killed in a road mishap today around 2.40 pm at Karbi-Anglong near Khatkhati, Assam.
The deceased has been identified as B Sanaton, 31 years, son of B Ibobi Sharma of Laipham Khunou.
According to a source from the All Manipur Petroleum Tankers and Driver’s Union, the road mishap victim was a handyman of an oil tanker (filled with SK Oil) bearing number MN01-7077 coming from Numaligarh Oil refinery and bound for Imphal.
A case has been registered at the Diphu Police station in connection with the accident and post mortem examination of the dead will be conducted at Diphu Hospital, the source said.
The corpse will be received by the transporters Union.
