Majestic stage prepared for Modi`s meeting

IMPHAL, January 30:  The maiden visit of Narendra Modi, Prime Ministerial candidate of the BJP to the northeast begins at Manipur. With his schedule arrival on February 8, preparations are underway at Langjing Achouba park. A stage of 30 feet by 100 is under construction with a height of 7 feet. Security personnel led by 2 sub-inspectors with eleven police personnel are presently deputed at the construction site. The BJP, Manipur Pradesh is expecting a public turnout of at least one lakh from valley and hill districts.

NPF advisor and ex-MLA, PA Theko, M Sikho and TK Damon have left the party to join the BJP fold. The program of induction was held at BJP state office located at Nityaipat Chuthek today morning.

The function was attended by BJP state president Th Chaoba among other members. Speaking to reporters, he said that BJP candidates will win both seats in the Lok Sabha to be held this year. The Congress party has suffered a humiliating defeat in Delhi, Rajasthan and a BJP led government will come at the Centre, he said.

The state is still lagging behind in development and cannot be said as a truly democratic one. The basic amenities including electricity and water is still deprived to the public. The 102 kilometre long Jiribam-Imphal highway is still in a deplorable condition, but once the BJP comes to power, the highway will be completed within 2 years time. The border issue will also be addressed, and if the CM says that no land has been given to Myanmar, a debate can be held in the regard, he said.
