Manipur Photography Society launches its calendar

IMPHAL January 22: Deputy Speaker Preshaw Shimray today inaugurated the official calendar of the Manipur Photography Society at a simple function held at the Manipur Press Club.

The calendar launch was attended by Preshaw Shimray and Nabakanta, senior gynaecologist and consultant of National Rural Health Mission as the chief guest and president respectively.  

Giving his address, Shmiray said that Manipur is a very unique and beautiful place in the world and many exclusive plants and animals are found in the eastern side of the state. He mentioned the Siroy Lily which is not found in any other part of the country. On the southern side are found the fresh water lake called Loktak and our state animal Sangai, he said.

He continued saying that Manipur is full of beautiful landscape and the people residing there in their traditional dresses and tradition are invigorating, he said

Photography helps in showcasing the unique beauties of the state in front of other states through various means, he stated and appealed to all photographers  to capture the beauty of the state and preserved them.

He also appeal on sharing the knowledge of photography with the people living in the entire part of the state so that they can capture the beauty of their places.
